Culture & Arts | Boise State Football

I may be biased, but as far as culture goes, nothing speaks about the culture of Boise and Idaho than Boise State Football games. Not just the actual games but the surrounding tailgating and events. You can really see just how friendly and fun people in Boise are by walking around a tailgate. Gotta love being offered some BBQ or an adult beverage by a complete stranger. Nothing like it! I look forward to continue seeing the growth of the program and the Game Day experiences.

Live Music | The Knitting Factory

In my opinion, the place to watch a show is at The Knitting Factory. Not only did The Knitting Factory offer me my first employment opportunity, but they were also the location where I took my future wife on our first concert date. What is great about the Knitting Factory is that no matter the musical act, it is always an intimate show.

Shopping | Boise Towne Square Mall & The Blue and Orange Store

I like variety and the Boise Town Square Mall is great. It continues to grow and add some great shopping and restaurants. As a former Boise State athlete, my favorite spot has to be the Blue and Orange Store. I love walking around all of that Blue and Orange gear and feeling that my teammates and I at BSU helped launch 90% of the merchandise in the store.

Outdoor Activity | Floating the Boise River

Coming from California to Idaho was not an easy transition. But I will always remember my first summer in Boise, Idaho. One of the main reasons were the weekly trips to float the Boise River. Floating the river is fun, inexpensive and relaxing. You create memories on the river and that is why I love it so much!

Bar & Club | End Zone

I would have to say my favorite bar in Boise is the End Zone. After my playing days, I was reluctant to hang out in such a small “Hole In the Wall” type bar to watch football games. But the End Zone has a great atmosphere on Game Days and they really care about their customers. End Zone is another local place I set aside time to show my friends when they are visiting Boise.

Fine Dining & Live Music | Chandler’s Prime Steak & Fine Seafood

I have a weakness for a great steak. Chandler’s has always had a spot in my week for dinner. Anytime I have people visiting Boise, I always make sure that we make time to have dinner at Chandler’s. In a small city, Chandler’s has Big City restaurant experience, from the great food to the restaurants layout. Love the live music as well. As far as a dish… I would have to say that that the Cowboy Steak rocks my world every time!

Family Fun Center | Big Al’s

Big Al’s has to be my favorite family fun location in Boise. They do a great job on providing something for all ages. In my eyes the key to having a great environment is, the people working there have to be as happy to be there as the customers. And at Big Al’s you can tell the staff love their job!
