Kaley Sparling Best of Boise
Best Boise Experience | Winter Garden aGlow
Boise is always magical but especially more so during Idaho Botanical Garden’s Winter Garden aGlow. In my opinion , there’s no other experience like it. Jimmy & I always take our little ones on Thanksgiving (its starts that weekend). Yes they are open on Thanksgiving! It really gets us excited for Christmas. Walking through the garden with your hot apple cider and looking at all the beautiful lights-there’s nothing else quite like it! Open Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 – January 5, 2014 Winter Garden aGlow will be closed to the public December 3-4, 2013 for private events.
Live Entertainment | Comedy Sportz
Who doesn’t love a good clean laugh? Comedy Sportz is a fast-paced, family-friendly improvisational comedy, played as a sport! And what I love most about Comedy Sportz is it’s comedy without all the inappropriate language and references! I can take my whole family and have a great time. Not to mention I was able to partake in the fun!
Live Music | The Knitting Factory
Who doesn’t love a good concert? I know my favorite indoor venue has always been the Knitting Factory! They have been around for so long and I love how it’s located in the heart of BODO. They’ve had all of my favorite musicians perform there and I’ve had many memorable times with my friends at the Knit!

Happy Hour | Bardenay & The Matador
My favorite Happy Hour in the Treasure Valley goes to The Matador Restaurant and Tequila Bar & Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery. Sorry I couldn’t decide between the two! Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery’s skewers are what have my heart. Their Balsamic & Soy Marinated Beef Sirloin skewers with wasabi sour cream dipping sauce are to die for! I typically order about 3 with a Cesar side salad!
You just can’t go wrong with The Matador’s $5 Chorizo Tacos, Chicken Quesadilla, & their amazing Fire House Chili! What? I eat a lot! No but really, they have a great variety when it come to their Happy Hour Menu. Check it out and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

Culture & Arts | Idaho Historical Museum
Our kids love the Idaho History Museum. I’ve got to admit, I love it just as much as them. There is so much to soak in while there. It is set up with so much to do that there is no way that you can take it all in, in just one trip. That is the best part, it gives you a reason to come back for more!Visit The Idaho Historical Museum
Live Music | Idaho Botanical Garden
I love live music. LOVE live music. My husband and I really enjoy getting to go to concerts together. We think it keeps us young and fun. Okay, we are young and fun! That is why we love to get out to as many shows as we can. The Idaho Botanical Garden is absolutely one of the neatest outdoor venues that I have been to. If you are in town during a spring or summer show, this is the #1 place I recommend you check out!Visit Idaho Botanical Garden
Fine Dining | Chandler’s Prime Steaks & Fine Seafood
Between the live music and the perfect lighting, Chandler’s Steakhouse has the most desirable ambiance when it comes to Fine Dining in the Treasure Valley. Just as they call it, Prime Steaks and Fine Seafood! You can come to Chandler’s Steakhouse expecting only the best.Visit Chandler’s Prime Steaks and Fine Seafood
Outdoor Adventure | Skydive Idaho & Lucky Peak
Depending on the Outdoor Adventure that you are looking for, I’ve got a suggestion for both water and sky! First, Lucky Peak. Are you looking to take the boat out for some fun in the sun? This is where! They’ve even got boat and jet ski rentals at their marina. It’s perfect. My husband and I are both wakesrufers, so we can get enough of the water. Lucky Peak is our go to water destination in the Treasure Valley.
Second, Skydive Idaho! These guys are a hoot! No matter your comfort level, they know just how to handle you. Safety first of course and a coming in as a close second would be fun! They have set out to ensure that you have the best experience all the way around!
Family Fun | Big Al’s
Our family loves Big Al’s! My nuggets are entertained for hours! Not to mention my husband… There is a 50’ TV for him! He can watch 8 different games, at the same time! There are so many fun activities. There is bowling, arcade games, food, TV, DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION, the list goes on. Okay, I will admit it… Sometimes we go without the kids!Visit Big Al’s
Date Night | The Fork & Fast Lane Indoor Kart Racing
Grab a sitter… I will let you in on the best secret for Date Night! Tuesday night’s at The Fork followed by Go-Karts at Fast Lane Indoor Kart Racing. Tuesday nights are special because it is the only night that The Fork offers Chicken and Waffles! These are something all of their own. Literally. I have never experienced anything like this decadent dish. But, to be honest, I can’t tell which part of this date night combo is the crucial ingredient. I think if you’re going to have a week night date night, you can’t have one of these without the other. This is the perfect combo of delicious food and tons of fun!Visit Fastlane Indoor Kart Racing
