Salon & Spa | Island Glow Spray Tan | Paige Hoy
I’ve never been a big fan of spray tans, but I couldn’t be happier with the tan I got from Island Glow! Some tans I’ve had leave a really orange color, the tan fades unevenly, and the product even comes off on your clothes a bit sometimes. None of this was the case at Island Glow! She was able to provide me with a custom color tan that matched my natural complexion very well but still gave me an amazing glow. It looked very natural and pretty! The product she uses is all organic, and she even has some great after care products that help the tan last that are also organic, and very well priced. Don’t wait to check out Island Glow Spray Tan for your best glow yet!Visit Island Glow Spray Tanning
Live Music | Reef | Paige Hoy
The Reef is a go to spot of mine! Lunch, dinner, or drinks, I always know that The Reef will be an enjoyable experience. During Summer you can enjoy a nice outdoor lunch under the Palapa, and the indoors provide a great atmosphere for any occasion. They always have great live entertainment at The Reef that are reasonably priced and always a blast! Just about every show I’ve been to at The Reef is packed to the brim! Which makes for all the more fun with friends, new and old! Amazing food, friendly service, and yummy beverages. The Reef is a must go for Boise and it’s visitors.
Fine Dining | The Brickyard | Bethany Watkins
Went here with a few friends to watch the Dueling Pianos! We ordered a pizza for the table, and some side salads before the kitchen closed. The service was good, the food was tasty as far as pizza goes, the wine was great, and the entertainment nearly had us rolling on the floor laughing!
Local Favorites | Bluebird Cafe | Estefany Moreno
I love love love this place! It’s so fresh and different. I love supporting local businesses so this is my go to secret (not so secret) place for lunch. When in doubt pick the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup – yum!
Tip: It’s always busiest from noon-2pm so get there early!Visit Bluebird Cafe
Family Fun | Dave & Buster’s | Estefany Moreno
You eat, you grab your favorite drink, and then you play all under one roof. What’s not to love? The kids have fun winning tickets, buy stuff and I’m over here playing too, win-win!Visit Dave & Buster’s Boise
Date Night | 20th Century Lanes | Estefany Moreno
I’ve never experienced a bad moment at 20th Century Lanes. It’s the perfect place to double date. There’s food, drinks, cosmic bowling, good music and a separate bar for 21+.
This place definitely has my vote for a date night that’s unique and fun!Visit 20th Century Lanes, Inc.
Local Favorite | The Drink. Bar & Waterfront Grill | Jennifer Puente
The Drink. has so much to offer! I would most definitely say that this goes at the top of my list for Local Favorites. The ambiance and and variety of themes going on inside and out really allow you to mix it up every time you go! My favorite menu item is actually one of their newest additions, the Fondue. My little one also loves it and let me tell you… She is a picky eater!Visit The Harbor Grill & Event Center
Best Kept Secret & Cultural Eats | CasaBlanca Cuban Grill | Jennifer Puente
Not all Latin food is created equal!
My “Best Kept Secret” & “Cultural Eats” award goes to CasaBlanca Cuban Grill located on 5506 W. Overland Rd. Step out of Idaho and into Cuba with CasaBlanca’s flavorful plates. Their “Authentica cocina criolla!” dishes are so authentic you’d think you were in Cuba during your entire meal. The owner’s mother is in the back cooking, it’s amazing! My favorite dishes are “Fricassee de carne de puerco” with sweet ripe plantains, and the “Sandwich Cubano”!
It’s NOT Mexican food so don’t you dare ask for a taco or hot sauce!

Best Kept Secret | The Cake Ballers | Kellie Reeves
Okay maybe The Cake Ballers aren’t exactly a secret anymore… but if you haven’t tried this delicious desert then you need too! They have so many great flavors it’s hard to choose just one. I love when they do the holiday sampler boxes that include a variety of flavors! But if you can only pick one, you can’t go wrong with the chocolate! YUM!Visit The Cake Ballers
Date Night | Graeber & Company & Gino’s Italian & Table Rock | Jennifer Puente
We LOVE date night!!! Mama bear & papa bear need time to ourselves! It’s very far and few in between but when we do have time to have an “official date night”, out of the ordinary dinner and a movie, we go all out! Starting with dual massages at Graeber & Company in Downtown Boise. They seriously have the best customer service. Not to mention they carry my favorite hair & skin product -Aveda! After our massages we grab an early dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant, Gino’s Italian Ristorante in Meridian. You can’t get more authentic than Gino’s! After dinner we drive to the top of Table Rock and watch the sunset, in peace and quiet, if you know what I mean!Visit Table Rock Boise Visit Gino’s Italian Ristorante Visit Graeber and Company Salon and Spa
Landmarks & Attractions | Old Idaho Penitentiary | Klair Strom
Okay… I am a total History nerd. I love learning. Especially about things that happened before I existed. Any chance I get to get hands on experience with history, I’ll take it! The first time I went out to the Old Idaho Pen was my Freshman year of college. I had to do a scavenger hunt for a Criminal Justice class that I was taking. The things that I got to see while I was there were unreal! If you’re looking for something to do with your friends or even family, this is a must! There are self-guided tours as well as guided tours.Visit Old Idaho State Penitentiary Visit Old Idaho State Penitentiary
Live Entertainment | Morrison Center | Jennifer Puente
Reflecting back on all the live entertainment I’ve enjoyed over the past years, favorite comedy acts, family friendly shows with my daughter, and not to mention classic Broadway shows, they have all been at the Morrison Center! My best memory was watching Ballet Idaho’s The Nutcracker at the Morrison Center.
They host entertainment for all walks of life and all interests! I would highly recommend staying on top off their line up of shows!Visit Ballet Idaho & Ballet Idaho Academy Visit Velma V. Morrison Center For The Performing Arts
Family Fun | Eagle Island State Park | Estefany Moreno
Ok, so when you have step kids to entertain or any kids for that matter, Eagle Island is the place to be! My step kids absolutely love running around wild (with me behind them of course) splashing each other during hot days! It’s a nice little place to set up a little picnic with the family and soak in the sun rays!Visit Eagle Island State Park
Shopping | BoDo | Heather Littleton
I’m a sucker for Downtown Boise & I especially love BoDo! From all the shopping available along with the restaurants this area just can’t be beat! BoDo has the best shopping & it’s conveniently located! Every time I drive by I have to make a quick stop!Visit BoDo
Salon & Spa | Scot Christopher Hair Design | Kellie Reeves
This is the cutest little salon tucked away in the middle of Downtown Boise. Not only do they have a great location, but the employees are all so nice. The first time I went I instantly felt welcomed! I just had a simple trim done, but Erin did a great job and I was more than pleased with the results. I definitely plan on going back!
Best Boise Experience | Boise State Athletics | Klair Strom
Although I grew up an Arizona State Sun Devil and my loyalties lied deep within family tradition, I am now a die-hard Boise State Bronco fan. I decided to move to Boise to attend college at Boise State University and traded my loyalties to be a Bronco for life. There is something about the passion and commitment that comes with being a Bronco that makes you more than a fan, its a family tie. While in Boise, attending any Boise State sporting event is a must!
Bar & Club | Silly Birch | Kellie Reeves
Boise has plenty of great places to enjoy a cold beverage. But one of my favorites is the Silly Burch in Old Boise. Not only do they have a good selection of beers on tap but they also have a ton on TV’s. It’s a great place to watch the second half of the game and enjoy a few beers with friends.Visit The Silly Birch
Happy Hour | Goldy’s Corner | Estefany Moreno
After long days of work, I always look forward to a good cocktail to get me re-charged for those chores I’m about to tackle when I get home. I recently found a hidden gem in the heart of Downtown Boise one day during a spur of the moment, evening stroll. The first thing I noticed about Goldy’s was their chalkboard sign outside promoting “1/2 off Mimosas,” the second thing I noticed was the variety in flavors, I was hooked already! So I walked in with a friend, we ordered delicious Mango Mimosas made with real mango juice and talked for hours in their lounge area! Ever since then I make it a tradition to go there at least once a week during their 5-9 pm daily happy hour! Can’t beat $3 mimosas!

Local Favorite | Barbacoa | Heather Littleton
I love being able to dress up in my heels & little black dress & head out for a night with the girls & the best place to do this is always at Barbacoa! From the amazing drinks made by the awesome bartenders to the hand-made guacamole, made right in front of you, Barbacoa is always my first choice! Not to mention the ladies restroom is pink! I always show up in a great mood & always leave happier than when I arrived! The environment, ambiance, art, decorations, & huge wine wall are what makes Barbacoa amazing!
