As the summer heat intensifies and the calendar turns to July, the city of Boise and its surrounding areas prepare to celebrate Independence Day in grand style. From traditional Fourth of July parades and fireworks displays to music festivals and food truck rallies, there’s something for everyone in and around the Boise, Idaho and Southern Idaho areas.

Here’s a roundup of some of the most exciting 4th of July events happening in and around Boise, Idaho, the Treasure Valley, and Southern Idaho this year.

Boise Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration

Ann Morrison Park, Boise, Idaho
Festivities in Ann Morrison Park begin at 6pm, and the fireworks are scheduled to start at 10:15pm

The Boise Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration is a traditional event where a spectacular fireworks display is launched from Ann Morrison Park. The park will be closed to vehicles all day, but attendees are welcome to walk or ride a bike into the park throughout the day.

Festivities in the park start at 6pm, with food and drink vendors on site, and beer and wine available for purchase for those 21 and older. Attendees can also enjoy the new interactive fountain. Please remember to leave drones, pets, and fireworks/sparklers at home. After the fireworks, Americana Blvd. will be closed for approximately 45 minutes to allow pedestrians to exit the park safely.

Idaho 4th of July Parade Live From Boise

Downtown Boise
The parade starts at 10:00am

The Idaho 4th of July Parade in Downtown Boise is a patriotic celebration that honors the nation’s founding fathers and mothers. After three years of not having a parade, the celebration returns in 2024 with the theme “United We Stand.” The community is invited to participate in the parade or enjoy the festivities as spectators. The day starts at 7:00am with a pancake breakfast in Cecil D. Andrus Park. The parade, which starts at 10:00am, will feature a marching band and various entries from businesses, organizations, and families.

Corporate entries will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, with winning entries receiving $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 for their charities of choice.

Meridian Independence Day Celebration

Storey Park – Meridian, Idaho
4:00pm to 10:30pm

The Meridian Independence Day Celebration is a grand event held in Storey Park. The park will be open to families for picnics and fireworks viewing. Food trucks will be on-site from 4:00pm, offering snacks and local cuisine. The city of Meridian has partnered with Meridian Speedway to bring this celebration to the people of Meridian.

The fireworks display will be set off from the back (east side) of the Speedway at dusk, approximately 10:20pm. Live music by Smooth Ave. will be performed in the Blue Shelter from 7:00pm to 10:30pm. Please note that no personal fireworks or glass containers are allowed in the park, and the Bark Park will close half an hour before dark to secure the necessary fireworks safety zone.

Indian Creek Fun on the 4th

Indian Creek Plaza – Caldwell, Idaho
5:00pm to 9:00pm

Indian Creek Fun on the 4th is a community celebration of Independence Day at Indian Creek Plaza. The event offers a range of fun activities for the whole family. Attendees can cool off by running through splash pads, taking a dip in the dunk tank, or having a foam fight in the foam pit with a fun foam cannon.

The event is designed to be a gigantic community celebration of the good Ole U.S. of A. Vendors who specialize in kid services, kid activities, and on-site food providers will be present to add to the festive atmosphere.

Lakeside Liberty Fest in McCall, Idaho

July 4th through 7th, 2024 – Activities start at 10am each day

The Lakeside Liberty Fest is McCall’s annual Fourth of July celebration. The event features fun activities such as Bouncin Bin Inflatables, a zipline, and a variety of food vendors and shops open from 10am until dusk. On July 5th, there will be a Movie by the Lake showing Mean Girls 2024.

On the 4th of July, the day begins with Pilates in the Park at 9am, followed by a volleyball tournament. There will also be a City welcome tent for 4th of July swag and local youth fundraisers from 10am to 4pm. The day concludes with a grand fireworks display at dusk. Please note that mountain weather can change quickly, so attendees are advised to be prepared for any weather conditions.

4th of July Music Festival at Brundage

Brundage Mountain – McCall, Idaho

The 4th of July Music Festival at Brundage is a free event where attendees can enjoy live music in the Brundage base area. The venue offers a grassy alpine amphitheater and a plaza on Smoky’s deck where three festive and fun bands will perform to celebrate the 4th. Food and drinks will be available on the plaza. For those seeking some extra fun, the morning kicks off with the 4th of July Cat Track 10k/5k race. The music lineup includes Spencer Batt from 10:15am to 11:45pm, Corn Mash from 12:15pm to 2:30pm, and Lucky Tongue from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

4th of July Celebration in Kuna

The 4th of July Celebration in Kuna is a festive event that includes a fireworks display and a mini-food truck rally along the Greenbelt. The event takes place at Marsing’s Island Park. Attendees can enjoy a delicious dinner at the Marsing Lions BBQ, spend time with friends and family, and watch the fireworks light up the Snake River. Garden Valley Fourth of July Celebration

Weilmunster Park, Garden Valley, Idaho
The event starts with a flag-raising ceremony at 8am

The Garden Valley Fourth of July Celebration is a small-town event packed full of family fun throughout the entire day. The day kicks off with an annual flag-raising ceremony at Weilmunster Park. Following this, the Garden Valley EMS/Ambulance service hosts a golf tournament, silent auction, and BBQ at Terrace Lakes Resort starting at 9am. Children’s games begin at 10am, including the Soap Box Derby races.

Attendees can participate in a Duck Race by purchasing a duck. The day concludes with a two-part parade at 6pm, the Dry and Wet parade, followed by a grand fireworks show 30 minutes after dusk. Attendees are advised to bring their lawn chair or blanket to the park to enjoy the show.

The Melba “Olde Tyme” 4th of July is a traditional celebration that prides itself on being fit for the great country we call home. The day begins with a Fun Run in the morning, followed by a parade at 10:30am. Throughout the day, there are many events taking place, culminating in an incredible fireworks display at dusk.

This family-friendly event invites everyone to participate in the various games and events, and to enjoy the variety of food available. The celebration is entirely volunteer-run and operates through donations and sponsors.
