Boise’s philanthropic, business, and nonprofit communities will come together on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for FUNDSY’s annual gala, Night at the Races, at Boise Centre West.

This year’s Kentucky Derby-inspired event serves as FUNDSY’s primary fundraising effort, combining a formal dinner program with interactive entertainment to support a large-scale capital project for a local nonprofit. In 2026, proceeds from the gala will benefit the Boise Contemporary Theater and a series of planned facility improvements designed to expand its long-term impact.

“FUNDSY’s mission has always been centered on investing in projects that create lasting value for our community,” said Natalie Chatfield, Board President of FUNDSY. “This year’s partnership with Boise Contemporary Theater represents an opportunity to support an organization that plays a vital role in Boise’s cultural and creative landscape.”

Gala Pairs Entertainment with Fun Fundraising Efforts

At its core, Night at the Races is a fundraiser, but it’s built to feel like a fun, social experience first.

The gala will begin with a cocktail reception and social hour, where guests can connect, enjoy drinks, and take part in interactive “Pick Your Ponies” race games using event currency. From there, the event moves into a full dinner and program, followed by race-themed entertainment that carries throughout the night.

There’s also a silent and live auction supporting this year’s project, along with a VIP Live Race Experience for select attendees earlier in the evening. Dress code for this event is “Derby-chic” as defined by the event organizers.

Supporting Boise Contemporary Theater

This year’s FUNDSY is supporting Boise Contemporary Theater, which plays a key role in Boise’s arts and culture landscape.

Known for producing contemporary performances that explore the human experience, the theater has built a reputation for bringing people together through storytelling. Beyond the stage, it also offers educational programming and community-focused initiatives that reach a wide range of audiences.

Funds raised through the 2026 gala will support a series of upgrades designed to position Boise Contemporary Theater for its next phase of growth.

Planned improvements include enhancements to the mainstage performance space, the addition of a new public gathering area and café, updates to administrative offices and classrooms, expanded technology, and exterior improvements.

These upgrades are intended to improve the experience for both audiences and performers while also allowing the organization to expand its educational programming and community use of the space.

FUNDSY’s Impact on the Community Over the Years

FUNDSY has been part of the Boise community since 1967, raising millions of dollars to support capital projects for local nonprofits. Its approach is focused on long-term impact. Rather than funding short-term needs, FUNDSY invests in projects that help organizations grow, improve their facilities, and expand the services they offer.

Past beneficiaries include organizations such as the YMCA, Idaho Youth Ranch, Discovery Center of Idaho, TRICA, and the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.

The bi-annual FUNDSY gala serves as the primary funding source for a single selected project.

Tables and Sponsorship Opportunities Still Available

Tables and sponsorships are available at multiple levels,m as well as single tickets available. The gala is popular among businesses hosting clients, teams, or partners.

As a nonprofit fundraiser, contributions associated with tables and sponsorships are tax-deductible.
