Follow This Is Boise

The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic will soar into the skies of Boise, Idaho, from August 27 to August 31, 2025. This beloved local event, held at Ann Morrison Park, brings together colorful hot air balloons from across the United States and offers some of the best photo and sightseeing opportunities in both the early morning light and evening sky.

History of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic

The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic began in 1991 and has grown into one of Boise’s most anticipated annual traditions, drawing balloon enthusiasts and spectators from all over the region. Balloonist Scott Spencer and Steve Schmader organized the first gathering of balloons at Ann Morrison Park as part of the Boise River Festival.

Now in its 34th year, the event continues to celebrate the joy of flight and the beauty of the Boise area.

  • Bring a Camera: The balloons create incredible photo opportunities, so don’t forget your camera or smartphone.
