Boise, Idaho’s dining and nightlife scene just received another addition with the opening of 8 Horses Lounge, an intimate space by Fork and Alavita owners Cameron and Amanda Lumsden.
Located in the space beneath one of downtown Boise’s most historic buildings at 805 West Idaho, 8 Horses Lounge displays its past as the Boise City National Bank, featuring the original 15-ton vault door, a smaller vault, and original signage from its history. The main vault door, a remnant from the building’s banking days, is now filled with plush seating for conversation and sipping.
By the Owners of Fork and ALAVITA
With over 20 years in hospitality management, Cameron and Amanda Lumsden have created a new experience at 8 Horses Lounge. They’ve transformed the basement into a cozy, inviting living room where conversation is the norm, complete with a hidden wine vault and seating for small groups.
“We’re so excited to bring Boise along on our next adventure, 8 Horses Lounge. The depth and richness of the space under Fork always intrigued us and was the perfect setting for the resurrection of 8 Horses Lounge. We know Boise will love it as much as we do. From the original 15-ton vault door to the hidden wine vault and the seating areas throughout, it provides many opportunities for conversation over a cocktail,” said Owners Cameron and Amanda Lumsden.
Lush Wines and Cocktails
8 Horses Lounge offers nineteen wines by the glass and twenty-three by the bottle. The cocktail menu features house creations like the Palomino, the Yellow Jacket, and the Baja Breeze—all made with local ingredients. Attention to detail ensures an exciting sip-after-sip experience.
The History Behind 805 West Idaho
805 West Idaho is a historic building in downtown Boise. Eight horses from Table Rock Quarry transported sandstone blocks to construct the five-story facade, a tribute to Boise’s architectural heritage. “8 Horses” is a nod to the effort and history embedded in the building’s foundation.
