SELECT SIX: WEDNESDAY MUSIC PICKS
SELECT SIX: TODAY’S MUSIC PICKS
Our This Is Boise music picks for today’s Treefort festivities!
Built to Spill
7pm | Main Stage
“Built to Spill is an indie rock band from Boise, ID, formed in 1992 by guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch. On September 2022 they released their most recent album, through SubPop – “When the Wind Forgets Your Name”. Known as well for its rotating line up, the band currently counts with Melanie Radford on bass and Teresa Esguerra on drums.”
BlU De TIger
11:50pm | Treefort MH
“Bass prodigy and burgeoning pop icon Blu DeTiger was born and raised in NYC. Drawn to the bass early on, she took the stage at CBGB, prior to the iconic club’s closing, when she was only seven. By 17, she was a staple in the city’s creative scene. While playing in a multitude of bands, she also distinguished herself as a DJ, playing live bass during her sets and getting the crowd dancing, whether at a techno rave in Brooklyn or a high-profile fashion event. “
PETEY
5:30pm | Main Stage
“Before Petey built a big fan base with his comedy, he was building a smaller one with his music, which might strike some of his new fans as surprisingly earnest and, perhaps, surprisingly enjoyable. One of his best-known songs is “Apple TV Remote,” about a guy whose ex is mainly—but not completely—gone. “Apple TV slide show / Yeah, we can never find the remote,” he sings, softly. “
CAUSEWAY
8pm | Neurolux
“American synthwave project, Causeway, share their incredible debut album via Italians Do It Better today. We Were Never Lost clocks in at just under 50 minutes across 11 hypnotic tracks. “
Afrosonics
6pm | Bandshell
“In a world of negative messages we represent a positive hope to bring a harmonious voice to all. Out of the desire to bring communities together, Afrosonics creates music featuring a collective of musicians from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, South America and the United States. “
Frost Children
9:10p | El Korah Shrine
“Frost Children is the project of NYC-based siblings Lulu and Angel Prost. They’ve released multiple full-length projects since 2020 that combine and transcend genre. They’ve been called “obnoxious, self-obsessed, painfully stylish, convinced of a sense of greatness they’ve yet to earn.” Frost Children are pop music in all its textures and forms. “
